Tooth Extractions

When a tooth is too decayed or damaged to be saved, it needs to be removed to protect your other teeth from further decay and infecting the rest of your body.

We will extract the tooth in our office using local anesthesia or, if you choose, sedation dentistry. Before we proceed with the extraction, we’ll create a personalized plan to address the gap left by the removed tooth. Filling this space is important to prevent your other teeth from shifting and to keep your bite aligned. We’ll discuss options like dental implants or partial dentures to ensure your smile stays healthy and complete.

Wisdom Teeth Extractions

Wisdom teeth are located at the very backs of our mouths and are often the last teeth to erupt, a process that usually occurs in our late teens or early twenties.

For some people, wisdom teeth do not cause any problems. For most of us, they can be an issue for the following reasons:

  • Impactions – When there isn’t enough room in your mouth, wisdom teeth can get stuck, causing pain and increasing the risk of infection.
  • Alignment issues – When wisdom teeth come in, they often emerge crooked and misaligned, affecting your bite and the spacing of your teeth.
  • Entrapment issues – If a wisdom tooth remains in the jawbone or only partially emerges, it can cause pain and discomfort and be very difficult to clean properly

If we find that your wisdom teeth need to be removed, we’ll discuss your options and schedule the surgery. We’ll explain the process in detail and let you know what to expect during and after the procedure, ensuring you feel comfortable and informed every step of the way.

Bone Grafting

Bone grafting is a procedure where a piece of bone is taken from one part of your body and added to your jawbone. This is often done to strengthen your jaw and prepare it for dental implants.

The newly grafted bone strengthens and thickens your jaw, preparing it for an implant or other restorative dental procedures.

PRF & PRP

At Promontory Heights Dental, we use platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and platelet-rich Fibrin (PRF) to promote accelerated healing and tissue regeneration after bone grafting and other oral surgeries.

During this process, we draw a small amount of your blood and spin it in a centrifuge to separate the platelets. This creates PRP and PRF, which we then inject back into the treatment area to promote healing.

Pain Relief Methods

At Promontory Heights Dental, your comfort is our priority. To make sure your visit is as pleasant as possible, we offer several pain relief options, including:

For most of our dental procedures, we use local anesthesia to ensure your comfort. This is administered via injection to temporarily numb the area effectively  minimizing or even preventing pain and discomfort.

If the thought of going to the dentist makes you anxious, you may want to talk to us about our sedation dentistry options. We’ve been providing sedation dentistry for years, making it one of our clinic’s specialties. Your comfort and ease during dental visits are our top priorities.
